Yes, you read that headline right.
Iconic amusement park Dreamland in Margate is known for its traditional fairground fun, great street food and vintage roller discos, but they’ve really outdone themselves with their latest must-see attraction.
Just in time for Margate Pride, the beachside attraction will become home to a giant inflatable sculpture of Tina Turner, the legendary singer behind hits like Proud Mary, The Best and What’s Love Got To Do With It.
The impressive sculpture of Tina’s head was created by artists Cool Shit and stands 7 meters tall and 7 meters wide. It will be available to visit for free every day over the summer, and even comes with a karaoke booth for guests to climb inside and enjoy.

Tina’s head will be unveiled to the public in Dreamland on 10 August, and has been created in anticipation of the upcoming Turner Prize exhibition, which will be hosted in Margate’s Turner Contemporary later this year.
The sculpture also marks the launch of Dreamland’s answer to the Turner Prize – The Tiina Turner Prize, an open competition to find a new Tina Turner-themed work of art to adorn Dreamland’s Mural By The Sea billboard.
“We’re thrilled to be honouring one of music’s greatest icons with a piece of fan art that thousands of people will be able to engage with and enjoy for free,” said CEO of Dreamland Margate, Eddie Kemsley.
It just so happens that 10 August is also when Margate will be celebrating Pride, where Dreamland will be rounding off a Rainbow Week with a show-stopping performance by Melanie C and Sink The Pink, with support from Hannah Holland.
