Angeria Paris VanMichaels has opened up about her plans for the future following her sickening run on All Stars 9.
On 26 July, the Drag Race franchise’s first-ever charity-led All Stars season ended following 12 weeks of hilarious maxi-challenges, jaw-dropping runways and juicy drama.
For their last challenge, the ladies showcased their respective talents in the ‘Slay It Forward Variety Extravaganza’.
After a rousing batch of performances, Roxxxy Andrews, Vanessa Vanjie and Angeria advanced to the final – where they delivered one final lip-sync to Janet Jackson’s iconic track ‘Rhythm Nation’.
Taking the lip-sync and their variety talent show into consideration, RuPaul declared Angeria as the winner of the competition.
In a recent interview with PRIDE, the Atlanta-based queen opened up about all things Drag Race, including what’s in store for her career post-All Stars 9.
“I want to do TV and film, for sure. Whether it is acting or voice-overs. I want a major role in something, that is what I want. I want to continue being on the screen,” she explained to the news outlet.
“I feel like that is my calling. That’s my passion. I feel like it was something that Ru recognized during the season in me, and that’s definitely something I am more passionate about now that I’ve done so many of the acting things on Drag Race and gotten so settled into this comedic presence that I have and that I’ve harnessed.”
While Angeria has big plans outside of the Drag Race universe, she isn’t closing the door on future franchise appearances, like an All Winners season.
“I would most definitely do All Winners. Listen, I love doing Drag Race. I can’t explain it to you more than just saying that it’s my happy place, and I’ve said that for years,” she gushed to PRIDE.
“I get in that room for those months and I am just being the creative artist that I am, and it feels amazing. Hey, I already got a crown, so it won’t be too stressful this time, honey. I can really have fun, fun. So I would do it in a heartbeat.”
The first-ever winners’ season memorably aired in 2022, with Jinkx Monsoon defeating fellow legends Monét X Change, Shea Couleé, Trinity the Tuck, The Vivienne, Jaida Essence Hall, Yvie Oddly and Raja for the title of ‘Queen of All Queens’.
We can’t wait to see more from Angeria in the future.
