The video is finally here!
Ariana Grande gave us a little teaser as to what to expect from her latest music video on Tuesday, and we’ve been struggling to stop our excitement levels from boiling over.
She also dropped hints that she would be paying homage to classic teen films like Bring It On, 13 Going On 30, and Legally Blonde.
And now the video is out, we can officially confirm that it does not disappoint. But despite having been out for only 16 hours, the video has already racked up over 39 million views on YouTube.
The video starts with Grande writing in a diary, and making references to former boyfriends like Pete Davidson and Mac Miller, who tragically passed away back in September.
During the video, Ariana performs numerous dance routines including some dressed up as sexy Santas, and recorded by Kris Jenner, and another where is a cheerleader.
And after seeing another couple get married, Ariana is transformed and taken into the world of Legally Blonde, including a skit between Ariana and Paulette Bonafonté, played by Jennifer Coolidge, where Paulette questions her on whether she’s dated a man without teeth before.
The video ends with Ariana dancing in the beauticians with Paulette and the other patrons, before giving a montage of Ariana’s other dance sequences.
And Kris Jenner closes out the video, saying: “Thank you, next bitch!”
