The Bachelor star Elizabeth Corrigan has come out as bisexual in a heartfelt post.
Throughout Pride Month, an array of LGBTQ+ celebrities have come out and celebrated their queer identities.
From actress Rebel Wilson to King Richard actor Aunjanue Ellis, the number of out-and-proud public figures have steadily risen over the last few weeks.
With Pride Month coming to a close, Corrigan joined the growing number of queer celebrities by opening up about her bisexuality for the first time.
Taking to Instagram, the former Bachelor contestant discussed her coming out journey in a lengthy post.
“It’s hard to know the right way to say these things, or the right time. Today seems like both and neither. Waking up this morning to my first Pride in NYC, I was so excited,” she wrote.
Corrigan went on to say that, after getting ready for the Pride festivities, she started to feel anxious and second-guessed her decision to come out publicly.
“Am I ready? No. Am I scared? Yes. Will “the right time” come? Qualify it. It’s important to me today to share with you all that I am queer. More specifically, I am, always have been, and always will be bisexual,” she continued.
“If you know me personally, you probably know this. Everytime I tell someone new this information, I experience fear. Fear that it will end a business transaction, fear that I will make someone uncomfortable, fear that I would be ostracized from my family.
“What’s more important to me at the end of the day -is to be me. Authentic. Genuine. Raw. So maybe one person will feel less alone… If you’re that one. I’ve got you. I’m here-I’ll answer.

“You are NOT alone. Hoping that one day the fear will turn to what it should be …PRIDE. Only love. All love. Today and each day to come. Moments matter.”
After posting her emotional statement, fans flocked to the comment section to send support to the reality TV star.
One follower commented: “YES!! happy Pride!!! one of my FAVE bach nation contestants – ty for being you!!!”
Another fan added: “Please be the first bi Bachelorette please.”
Corrigan now joins the growing number of Bachelor stars to have come out as part of the LGBTQ+ community.
Back in May, Becca Tilley confirmed her romantic relationship with LGBTQ+ icon Hayley Kiyoko in the latter’s recent music video, For The Girls.
In April 2021, Colton Underwood came out as gay on Good Morning America with Robin Roberts.
The former professional football player and star of The Bachelor season 23 said quarantine helped him come to terms with his sexuality.
In 2019, Demi Burnett made history in the sixth season of Bachelor in Paradise after she popped the question to Kristian Haggerty, making it the first time a same-sex couple has done so in the franchise’s run.
