Double-platinum-selling South London artist Cat Burns has released the music video for her latest single, People Pleaser.
The video’s visuals follow a day in the life of Cat and her friends as they rally around each other for support when a member of their friendship group deals with complex emotions following a breakup.
Released last year, the song has amassed over 20 million global streams and surpassed 11 million TikTok views. Currently making its ascent up the Official Singles Chart, Cat’s track has received solid playlist support across many BBC Radio stations.
The video follows a queer woman post-breakup, who is waiting for her now-ex girlfriend to collect her things from her home. After a brief argument with her ex, the protagonist goes to meet her friends at the pub, one of which is Cat herself.
The friends are on a mission to cheer her up, but after clearly not feeling it the protagonist heads home to be alone. This is when Cat and her friends show up to give her emotional support which turns into a wholesome dance party.
