Charli XCX and Lizzo have dropped a banger.
After blessing us with a series of incredible singles like Girls Night Out and 1999 last year, pop superstar and queer icon Charli has released her first new music of 2019 with Blame It On Your Love.
The single, a more radio-friendly reworking of her eccentric Pop 2 closing song Track 10, is a glittering apology for hurting a lover, featuring production from Stargate and a fierce guest verse from friend and former GAY TIMES cover star Lizzo.
“Every time you get too close I run away, and every time you say the words I don’t know what to say,” Charli sings on the track, before confessing, “Every time I fuck it up, I blame it on your love.”
Meanwhile, Lizzo utilises her painfully-short verse to dismiss Charli’s apology – “I don’t know what’s wrong with this girl Charli, she’s crazy,” the singer quips – arguing that she’s too busy “tryna catch millions” to develop feelings for a man.

Earlier this week, Charli announced that she’s joined forces with Troye Sivan to curate a brand new one-day festival called Go West Fest, which will take place in Los Angeles on 6 June this year and celebrate all things LGBTQ.
Troye described it as “a new kind of pride festival curated by me n [Charli XCX] that celebrates the inclusivity, artistry, music, kinks, merchants, and creativity of the LGBTQ community, while really giving back to our community.”
The lineup includes performances from queer favourites and their allies including Troye, Charli, Allie X, Carlie Hanson, Chika, DJ Alima Lee, DJ Baby Uniq, DJ Ko Koala, Dorian Electra, Gia Gunn, Leland, Pussy Riot, and Quay Dash.
