Chloë Grace Moretz has publicly addressed her sexuality for the first time.
On 1 November, the Kickass star shared the news in a passionate Instagram post regarding the 2024 US Presidential election and her endorsement of Vice President Kamala Harris.
“There is so much on the line this election. I believe the government has no right over my body as a woman, and that the decisions over my body should come ONLY from myself and my doctor,” she wrote.
“Kamala Harris will protect that for us. I believe in the need for legal protections that protect the LGBTQ+ community as a gay woman. We need protection in this country and to have access to the care we need and deserve.”
Toward the end of her post, which featured a photo of an “I Voted Early” sticker, the young talent encouraged her followers to gather their friends and head to the polls using IWillVote.com.
Since uploading her statement, fans have flocked to social media to shower Moretz with support.
One Twitter/X user wrote: “My gay awakening being gay is exactly what I needed in life.”
Another fan tweeted: “Love you Chloë Moretz, lesbians keep winning.”

A third user commented: “Sapphics everywhere just took a sigh of relief.”
While Moretz’s aforementioned post marks the first time she has publicly identified as a gay woman, she has made waves for her sexuality in the past.
Over the last six years, The Peripheral star has been romantically linked with model/photographer Kate Harrison after TMZ uploaded photos of them kissing in Malibu, California, in 2018.
Since that fateful day, the rumoured love birds have shared adorable snapshots of each other on Instagram and have been spotted in public on numerous occasions.
In a 2022 interview with the i, Moretz gave a slight peek into her love life: “I like to keep my private life private. I’m in a long-term relationship. And I really enjoy that.”
While the pair have yet to publicly confirm their relationship, they did spark engagement rumours in April when they were seen wearing rings on their left hands at Disneyland.
