Courtney Act is about to showcase her charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent for the upcoming series of Dancing with the Stars Australia.
“Imma be twinkling round the floor on Dancing With The Stars!” Courtney wrote on Twitter. “Can’t wait to do all the sexy dances and wear all the pretty dresses (hopefully no wardrobe malfunctions this time).”
She will attend rehearsals as Shane Janek, but will perform as her drag pseudonym, and will dance with a male partner.
Other celebrities who are set to compete are Cassandra Thorburn, Miguel Maestre, Constance Hall, Denise Scott, Michelle Bridges, Olympia Valance, Samuel Johnson, James Rees, Sir Curtly Ambrose and Jett Kenny.
The 16th season, which will be the series first in four years, will premiere 18 February on Network 10.
Courtney is also hoping to represent Australia in the Eurovision Song Contest this year.
The legendary queen – who won Celebrity Big Brother UK last year – released the video for her massive dance-pop anthem, Fight For Love, which she will perform on SBS’ Eurovision – Australia Decides on Saturday 9 February.
“A sweet 16 years after Australian Idol, I have the chance to show Australia how I have grown as an artist and performer and I am so excited,” she said in a statement.
“To compete to represent Oz in Eurovision is second only to being on that stage in Tel Aviv and singing my lungs out for my country. Fight For Love is a dancefloor banger all about coming together and fighting for the things we believe in.
“I think it’s so important to think about the basic human rights of others and to use our collective voices, minds and bodies to lift those people up and bring about change.”
