Cue the wedding bells, Ben Platt and Noah Galvin have announced their engagement.
On 25 November, The Politician star and Booksmart actor took to Instagram to reveal the heartwarming news.
“He agreed to hang out forever,” Platt captioned a series of snapshots – which featured the two embracing and Galvin’s gold engagement ring.
The Good Doctor star added: “I said yeehaw and then cried for like 7 hours.”
Shortly after uploading their announcement, their industry peers and fans flocked to the comment section to send congratulatory messages.
Beanie Feldstein wrote: “I am so happy and haven’t stopped crying.”
Drag Race judge Michelle Visage commented: “OMG OMG OMG! CONGRATS TO YOU BOTH.”
Bowen Yang added: “F**K YAWWWWWWWHHHHEEEEAHHHHH.”
Ariana Grande and Kacey Musgraves also commented on the couple’s photos with heart emojis.
Platt and Galvin’s engagement comes a couple of years after the latter confirmed their relationship in a 2020 interview for the Little Known Facts podcast with Ilana Levine.
“Ben and I are dating. I asked him this morning, I was like, ‘Are we allowed to talk about this?” he said at the time.
“And he’s like, ‘Don’t go into our nitty gritty, but yeah, people can know.’ It’s still relatively new.”
Before Galvin’s interview, the two had made several appearances on each other’s social media accounts – which ended up sparking relationship rumours.
A year later, Platt gave further insight into how their relationship came to be during an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
“We’ve been together for about a year and a half now. We’d been friends for like five years, and right before the pandemic, we finally decided to, like, really give it a real shot,” he explained.
“We’d kind of skated around it for a long time. And then it was like a zero to 60. Like, we’re living together with my parents in our childhood home and seeing each other all the time. It ended up being a beautiful time.”
We can’t wait to see what Platt and Galvin have planned for the big day.
