Doctor Who showrunner Russell T Davies has shared important dates for fans to look out for.
In November, TV viewers will finally be treated to the show’s highly anticipated 60th anniversary specials – which will take place across three episodes.
This time around, David Tennant will be reprising his role as Time Lord for another adventure with his former companion, Donna Noble (played by Catherine Tate).
The specials will also feature an array of new faces, including Heartstopper’s Yasmin Finney as Donna’s daughter Rose and Neil Patrick Harris as the Toymaker.
Over the last few months, the BBC and Davies have periodically blessed fans with new information regarding the forthcoming releases, ranging from first-look photos and mysterious clips.
But despite the aforementioned teasers, the Queer As Folk creator has refrained from announcing any dates regarding the specials or any other Doctor Who-related content… until now.
In the latest issue of the Doctor Who Magazine, Davies listed 1 November, 17 November and 23 November as important dates for fans to keep an eye out for, per Radio Times.
However, the It’s A Sin showrunner added that the above dates are not in relation to the “Specials’ transmission!”

Davies also clarified that three dates are not in-person Doctor Who fan events, stating: “We don’t have any live events planned. Sorry! We concentrated our fire on things everyone can see.”
Towards the end of his announcement, the beloved creative hinted that fans will be treated to the show’s new behind-the-scenes series Doctor Who: Unleased before the first special’s premiere.
“You’ll know about Unleashed by now, yes? Although you won’t know it’ll be popping up unexpectedly, briefly, well BEFORE ‘The Star Beast’ is shown. What? How? Oh just wait!” he added.
While the three dates are unrelated to the upcoming anniversary specials, they could bring new information regarding the series’ highly anticipated 14th season, featuring Sex Education’s Ncuti Gatwa as the 15th Doctor.
In addition to Gatwa, the forthcoming season will feature appearances from Looking star Jonathan Groff and two-time Drag Race winner Jinkx Monsoon – who’s character is described as “the Doctor’s most powerful enemy yet.”
