Madonna’s tour announcement left Drag Race fans floored when a viral video revealed that Bob the Drag Queen would appear as a special guest.
On 17 January, the icon announced The Celebration Tour with a clip paying homage to her trailblazing film Truth or Dare, featuring stars such as Diplo, Jack Black, Bob the Drag Queen, Kate Berlant, Larry Owens and Eric Andre.
The video culminates with Amy Schumer daring Madonna to go on tour, which she accepts.
Produced by Live Nation, the 35-city global tour commences in North America on Saturday 15 July at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena, with further stops in Detroit, Chicago, New York, Miami, L.A. and more.
European cities include London, Barcelona, Paris, Stockholm and Amsterdam, where the tour will come to a close on Friday 1 December.
The Celebration Tour will honour Madonna’s legendary discography while paying respect to New York, where her career first began.
In a statement, she said: “I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for.”
The tour will also offer a “one-of-a-kind experience” with special guest star Bob the Drag Queen, who won the eighth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race before starring in HBO’s Emmy Award-winning series We’re Here.
In a tweet, Bob celebrated the announcement with a photo of when he paid homage to Madonna on the Drag Race runway alongside a recent image of the pop pioneer on his lap: “We’ve come a long way!” he wrote.

Fans of the beloved queen have since taken to social media to share their excitement over the news.
“Bob the Drag Queen doesn’t have ‘THE drag queen’ in her name for no reason,” one said. “She is THE moment.”
Another added: “MADONNA WITH SUPPORT FROM BOB THE DRAG QUEEN YOU COULDN’T MAKE IT UP MY DREAMMMMMM NIGHT.”
“Bob The Drag Queen touring across half a year with the best selling female artist of all time to celebrate her fourth decade in the industry is precisely what the Queers needed today,” wrote a third fan.
