According to eagle-eyed fans, Chappell Roan might be appearing on an upcoming season of RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Throughout 2024, the beloved talent has catapulted to mainstream superstardom following the release of her stand-alone pop anthem, ‘Good Luck, Babe!’, which was met with acclaim for its unapologetic queerness and themes of compulsory heterosexuality.

Chappell’s 2023 debut album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, subsequently began to climb the worldwide charts.

In addition to her incredible music, the 26-year-old talent has also made waves for consistently using her platform to praise and uplift the drag community.

Due to her love for the art form and its various queens – including icon Sasha Colby – fans have called on World of Wonder and Mother Ru to feature the ‘Pink Pony Club’ singer as a guest judge on Drag Race.

While the WOW team has remained mum on the possibility, Chappell’s recent Rolling Stone interview seemingly confirmed that highly requested collaboration has already happened.

On 30 September, a fan shared an intriguing passage from the print version of the article to the Chappell Roan Reddit page – which included Drag Race-related information about the singer’s home.

“Roan is not fully settled in here. There are vintage lamps and half-unpacked boxes on the floor, sitting near bags of Anastasia Beverly Hills makeup she was gifted after guest-judging on RuPaul’s Drag Race yesterday. But there are also just enough touches to make it feel like a home,” the paragraph read.

In the online version, the passage only includes the tidbit regarding her lamps and moving boxes; it completely omits the makeup bag sentence.

As of writing, neither World of Wonder nor Chappell’s team have addressed the discrepancy.

Despite the radio silence, fans have already expressed their excitement over the singer’s potential involvement.

One person in the thread commented: “God finally, some good news.”

Another user wrote: “Super graphic ultra modern girl would be the best song for a lip sync that song is sooo drag coded.”

A third fan added: “This must be for all stars 10. still shocked tho! I wouldn’t have expected this till season 18 at least.”

While we’ll have to wait and see if Chappell will be making her Drag Race debut on season 17 or All Stars 10, she has already established a close connection to the show.

During the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, season 15 winner Sasha Colby claimed the beloved talent as one of her drag daughters.

“You all watched her blow up, the midwest princess is in the house! Your favourite drag queen’s favourite artist, here is my daughter, Chappell Roan!” she exclaimed.

Stay tuned for potential updates regarding Chappell’s rumoured Drag Race appearance.
