BREAKING NEWS: Rebecca Glasscock has finally spoken.

Following the recent Drag Race reunion, the star has praised Princess Poppy for paying homage to her trailblazing and fashion-forward entrance look from season one.

In an Instagram post from 11 April, Rebecca told her followers: Yooooo! Everybody was blowing up my phone and sending me pics! I thought it was hilarious! This bitch did her homework. For a minute I saw that pic from the panel and said: “When did I film that? Oh shit! That’s not me!””

She continued to commend Poppy for the detailed tribute: “Hats off to ya babe! You had me down to the pumps and the necklace! You fuggin turned it You had me LMFAO! Beautifully executed.”

“You’re the icon to end all icons,” responded Poppy, who said in her season 15 confessional that she’s “quitting drag”.

Ahead of the reunion, Poppy told Entertainment Weekly that she’s stepping back from the art-form “for the foreseeable future”.

“I want to fall off the face of the planet. I don’t want to be famous, I want to fade into obscurity. That’s not a bad thing. I think people put so much emphasis on success and fame, and it’s okay to not want to be famous,” she said.

“It’s totally valid to not want to be known by a bunch of people. That’s just not what I want. I don’t want that for my life.”

However, she assured fans that “Princess Poppy is never going to go away” and that she’s “not quitting drag altogether”: “Princess Poppy is always going to be there. I’m always going to do it, but it’s probably going to be a lot less frequent.

“Touring and doing drag all the time is really rough, it’s tough on your body, and if you’re not loving every minute, then it’s difficult.”

Poppy further explained that she made the decision after feeling “burned out” from her time on the series.

“I went onto the show knowing that I’m not great with social media, and I don’t overly enjoy that aspect of the career of drag…. it just became a lot, and I removed myself from it,” she said.

“I’m glad that I did, because I probably wouldn’t be as happy as I am now without doing that. I want to be left alone, I want to chill, I want to vibe.

“Drag, to me, as a career, wasn’t always a long-term thing. I went into this process knowing that I don’t want to pursue drag full-time, forever.”

The Drag Race season 15 finale airs 14 April, and will see the top four contestants – Anetra, Luxx Noir London, Mistress Isabelle Brooks and Sasha Colby – perform solo lip-sync numbers before the final two face off in a smackdown for the crown.

New episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 15, along with Untucked, air weekly and exclusively on the streamer of all things drag, WOW Presents Plus, in the UK and internationally on Saturdays at 2:00am.
