All Stars 8 runner-up Kandy Muse has opened up about her Drag Race future.
In 2021, the fandom was first introduced to the NYC diva, who made her debut in the franchise’s 13th season.
During her time on the series, Kandy made waves for her brutal honesty and explosive feud with Tamisha Iman (that Untucked episode was… severe).
Despite this, the Los Angeles-based talent made it all the way to the final and competed in the Britney-dominated lip-sync smackdowns for the crown, ultimately placing second to Symone.
In 2023, Kandy returned to the Drag Race sphere for the eighth season of All Stars.
Like her inaugural run, the talented performer showcased charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent throughout the competition, winning two maxi-challenges and landing in the top two alongside Canada’s Drag Race star Jimbo.
Following the finale, where she placed second, she issued a statement on X, formerly known as Twitter, reflecting on her Drag Race journey.
“Doing Drag Race back to back was great, but now I’m ready to actually live this new life I have and enjoy it. Excited to start new projects and meet you all around the world!” she wrote in July 2023.
Since the conclusion of All Stars 8, Kandy has stayed true to her word, booking spots on other reality TV series – including E!’s House of Villians and WOW Presents Plus/Crave’s new unscripted program Slaycation.
While the 29-year-old talent has started to step out of the Drag Race bubble, she isn’t shutting the door to future appearances.
In a recent interview with PRIDE, Kandy revealed that the recent season of All Stars – which features her season 13 sister Gottmik – has sparked her interest in returning.
“I will say this… watching All Stars [9] gives me an itch. I know I competed twice. I know I’ve been runner up twice. If a third time were to ever come about, maybe [I’d compete again],” she admitted.
Toward the end of her interview, Kandy coyly revealed that she would be open to competing in a global iteration.
While Kandy’s return to the Drag Race universe remains mystery, we do know that a Global All Stars is in the works.
Back in December 2022, World of Wonder confirmed that the new series would be heading to Paramount+ and consist of fan-favourites from across the franchise.
Since the news was announced, the production company has kept relatively quiet about the show’s format and cast.
However, in January 2024, rumours started to swirl that Alyssa Edwards (Drag Race US), Athena Sorgelikis (Drag Race Belgique), Eva Le Queen (Drag Race Phillippines), Kitty Scott-Claus (Drag Race UK), Kween Kong (Drag Race Down Under) and more were possibly returning to the work room for the juggernaut series.
