Nymphia Wind brought her charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent to the Paris Olympics, and fans are gagged.

Earlier this year, the banana activist and trailblazing Jane Goodall impersonator ‘Padam Padam’-ed her way to glory on RuPaul’s Drag Race season 16making history as the first East Asian champion of the OG franchise.

Nymphia’s triumph was widely celebrated by various alumni and stars –including Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga and Kylie Minogue – and particularly those within her community who have been “hungry” to see an “Asian success story” on-screen.

Since taking home the crown, Nymphia’s star has continued to rise, with the beloved drag talent appearing on various magazine covers – like Vogue Taiwan – and more.

On 8 August, the New York-based queen added another feat to her growing resume when she performed at the Paris Cultural Olympiad – “a multidisciplinary artistic and cultural programme” that runs before and during the Games.

Alongside her Haus of Wind members, Nymphia slayed her performance and showcased two ensembles, including a jaw-dropping yellow and black butterfly outfit.

In addition to delivering incredible choreography and showstopping looks, the 29-year-old also praised her home country of Taiwan.

“Let us put this out there: I know it says Chinese Taipei, but in my world, it says Taiwan. It means a lot to me to be able to represent Taiwan in a foreign country,” she exclaimed to the crowd.

It didn’t take long for Nymphia’s performance to go viral in the online Drag Race community, with many fans taking to X (Twitter) to praise the season 16 winner.

One user wrote: “Go with the wind and you will end up in the Olympic’s main stage. [Nymphia Wind] my queen.”

Another fan tweeted: “Nymphia’s reign has arguably been the most insane reign so far in Drag Race history lmao, she’s been HUSTLING.”

A third person added: “One thing she’s going to do is give it to us EVERY TIME.”

Nymphia’s recent appearance at the 2024 Olympics comes a few months after she showcased her talents for the President of Taiwan, Tsai Ing-wen.

After lip syncing to Lady Gaga’s ‘Marry the Night,’ and Huang Fei’s ‘Chase, Chase, Chase,’ the self-proclaimed “Banana Buddha” delivered a heartfelt speech about her journey.

“This is probably the first presidential office in the world to host a drag show. Thank you for your contributions to this country, so that I could grow up to be like this today. Thank you for eight years of dedication, becoming our Taiwan mother,” she gushed to Ing-wen.
