“Yesss! That’s what I’m missing this season! The originals!”
We’re just four episodes into American Horror Story: 1984, and despite the lack of series mainstays such as Jessica Lange, Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson, it’s shaping up to be a bloody fantastic season of television.
1984 follows five teenagers – played by Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Cody Fern, Gus Kenworthy and DeRon Horton – who become camp counsellors for the summer to escape the wrath of a Los Angeles serial killer called The Night Stalker.
There, they encounter a lunatic called Mr Jingles who slaughtered nine people at the camp 14 years prior.
Although the main cast members have been praised for their performances, fans have been craving the return of an original American Horror Story star. Thanks to some detective work from said fans, it looks like that will be a reality very soon.
On IMDB, it has been reported that the show’s upcoming 101st episode, The Lady in White, will feature the stunt double of Lily Rabe, who previously starred in Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freakshow, Hotel, Roanoke and Apocalypse.
Fans also noticed that Rabe followed 1984 cast member Matthew Morrison. She was also followed by Roberts.
IMDB isn’t a reliable source by any means, but the show has featured the return of several of its cast members in short capacities before such as Angela Bassett, Lange and Rabe in Apocalypse and Roberts in Cult – so it seems likely.
“Yesss! That’s what I’m missing this season! The originals!” said one fan while another wrote: “1984 is already one of the best things to happen to AHS in a long time and now Lily Rabe? We stay winning!”
Don’t be shocked if Paulson makes a comeback too. In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the star – who appeared in the first eight seasons – revealed that she might “pop up” in 1984.
“It’s a little bittersweet because I have a lot of friends who are still on the show,” she said. “So I’m getting updates about how it’s all going and what they’re doing, and I’m like, ‘Wait, what? You worked until two? Oh, I remember working until two.’”
Paulson continued: “And then I’m also very glad that I can wake up at a decent hour because I’m not cross-eyed from having worked insane nights. But, it’ll be hard. I’ll be watching and cheering everybody on. I’m really excited for this season.
“I think it’s a really cool idea for the show this year. And you never know, I may pop up. You never know. No promises though.”
