It’s time to ramp up the queer even further for Pride Month by celebrating the incredible music talent we have in our community.
GAY TIMES has teamed up with Vevo for a series of music video playlists that spotlight some of the best LGBTQ+ talent out there – as well as a handful of our most dedicated allies.
We have curated four playlists packed with iconic anthems, floor-filling fantasies and emerging queer talent that spans five decades.
Queer & Now spotlights the very best tracks of the moment by LGBTQ+ artists, from established names like Steve Lacy, Sam Smith, Anitta and Lil Nas X, to rising stars like Cassyette, Fred Roberts and Ethel Cain.
Queeroes dives into the rich history of queer music with legendary anthems from the likes of Elton John, Whitney Houston, RuPaul and Queen, to modern-day superstars Janelle Monáe, Lady Gaga and Kim Petras.
Queer Indie brings the gays and their guitars to the forefront, highlighting the very best queer alt musicians out there from Girl In Red to Boygenius, and Arlo Parks to Måneskin.
And finally we the banger-packed playlist that is Big Queer Party, ramping up the tunes that get us feeling good and celebrating with loved ones. It features an array of huge hits by LGBTQ+ artists including Sylvester, Troye Sivan, Loreen and Big Freedia, to infectious anthems by LGBTQ+ allies including Beyoncé, Donna Summer, Ariana Grande and Madonna.
All four playlists are available to stream worldwide on YouTube, as well as played throughout June on Vevo Pop channels on Connected TV in the US, UK, France, Spain, Italy and Germany.
But that’s not all… GAY TIMES and Vevo have collaborated on some special trivia interstitials to test your queer music knowledge between music videos. This will run on all Connected TV playlists across all territories.
“LGBTQ+ artists have always been some of the ultimate innovators in music, so spotlighting queer talent on this scale with a global music brand like Vevo during Pride has been a joy,” says Lewis Corner, SVP Content at GAY TIMES.
“We hope these curated playlists get you up dancing this June, celebrating who you are and feeling connected to a community that continues to thrive in the face adversity.”
Elliot Jaillet, Senior Manager, Programming & Editorial, EU at Vevo says: “Vevo is proud to be partnering with the iconic global brand GAY TIMES for Pride this year.
“Through our extensive music video catalog and the artists we represent, highlighting the success and importance of queer artists and the LGBTQIA+ community is part of Vevo’s all year round programming, but we are excited to enhance and amplify this further for Pride 2023.”
All four playlists are available to stream now.
