It’s only been a few weeks since singer-songwriter GESS dropped Rewind, his smooth R&B collaboration with Drag Race legend Shea Coulee (watch the sickening video here), yet he’s back with another relatable synthpop banger.
When we spoke to GESS earlier this year, he told us his music is primarily inspired by the dating process one experiences in their 20s, which is evident here on Clouds, which he describes as “when you’re so attracted to someone that you act awkward”.
“We stumble over our words and overthink what we say or do,” he told us. “This song is about that feeling. Getting so caught up in your attraction that you lose your composure and start wondering, ‘are you the one?’ before you even really know them.”
