The White Lotus star Aubrey Plaza has joined Marvel’s Agatha: Coven Of Chaos.
According to a report from Variety, the Happiest Season star has been cast alongside Kathryn Hahn in the upcoming WandaVision spinoff.
Details surrounding the plot and Plaza’s role have been kept under wraps, but the series has been described as a “dark comedy.”
The casting of the Parks and Recreation star comes a few days after Heartstopper’s Joe Locke was added to the series in an undisclosed role.
Taking to Instagram, Locke expressed his excitement for the forthcoming project, writing: “When I found out I got an email which said ‘welcome to the marvel universe,’ and I screamed.”
Many of his Heartstopper castmates, including Kit Connor, also took to the social media platform to congratulate the Isle of Man native for his landmark Marvel casting.
“I said he was going to take over the world. I wasn’t kidding,” Connor wrote via his Instagram story.
In addition to Hahn, Plaza and Locke, Buffy the Vampire Slayer alum Emma Caulfield Ford is also set to reprise her role as Dottie from WandaVision.
Agatha: Coven of Chaos was first announced in November 2021, with head writer and executive producer on WandaVision, Jac Schaefer, returning in both roles.
Hahn’s character memorably debuted as Agnes, the charismatic yet nosey neighbour of Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany).
It is later revealed that she is a powerful witch called Agatha Harkness, who has studied magic for centuries. Enraged with Wanda’s magical prowess, Agatha attempts to steal her chaos magic (to no avail).
Coven of Chaos will presumably take place after the events of WandaVision, which culminated with Wanda magically trapping Agatha as her intrusive neighbour persona in Westview.
Filming for the series is set to take place in Atlanta on 5 December, according to the Film & Television Industry Alliance.
