Drag Race Belgique host Rita Baga will be joined by two Belgian icons for the latest international version in the Emmy-decorated franchise.
At RuPaul’s DragCon UK 2023, World of Wonder ruvealed that Lufy and Mustii will assist Baga in judging the charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent of the Belgian drag scene.
Lufy became one of the first Belgian creatives to establish herself on YouTube and has since amassed a following of over three million across social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram and TikTok.
Mustii, a singer and actor, has worked in theatre and television for over a decade and was the recipient of the prestigious Magritte for Best Male Newcomer.
He has released two acclaimed albums: 21st Century Boy, a tribute to his hero David Bowie and The Darkest Night, a powerful collection highlighting mental health.
As for Baga, the star memorably rose to fame as a contestant on the first season of Canada’s Drag Race, where she placed runner-up behind – what’s her name? – Priyanka. Recently, Baga made her All Stars comeback on Canada vs the World, ranking third/fourth place.
Upon her initial announcement, Baga said in a statement: “Three years after participating in the first season of Canada’s Drag Race, what an honor to reunite with the Drag Race franchise team as the host of the very first edition of Drag Race Belgique!” Rita said in a statement.
“Belgium, where I lived a few years ago to complete my university studies, has always had a special place in my heart. I can’t wait to meet my Belgian colleagues. The Belgian drag scene is wonderful and I feel privileged to contribute to make it shine.
“From the beginning of my career, I wanted to democratise the art of drag and make this wonderful, magical universe accessible to everyone. To see that today, I can continue this mission beyond borders, it is the most beautiful thing that there is.
“It’s a dream come true! And now, may the best drag queen win!”
