Here’s how music fans reacted to Reba McEntire asking Troye Sivan about poppers

Troye Sivan and country icon Reba McEntire shared a hilarious interaction about poppers. 

On 11 October, the two music talents joined Andy Cohen on his hit series Watch What Happens Live!

During their appearance, Troye was asked by a fan if he actually did poppers for the ‘Rush’ single cover, which he previously admitted to in an interview with Rolling Stone AU/NZ. 

“That is actually true, yeah. I just wanted it to feel very intimate and very real, and it ended up being my favourite part of the photo,” the ‘Bloom’ singer responded. 

When another fan asked Reba if she had ever done poppers, The Voice judge looked to Troye and asked him what poppers were, resulting in a hilarious reaction from the audience and the Australian talent. 

“I don’t think so. What is a popper?” she inquired. 

In response, Troye and Andy promised to fill her in on all the details during the show’s commercial break.

Of course, LGBTQIA+ fans on X (formerly known as Twitter) were quick to express their love for the funny and innocent moment across various posts.

One person commented: “Reba McEntire asking Troye Sivan what a popper is. The generational, cultural and gender worlds that are colliding in a 5 second clip.”  

Another fan posted: “Reba McEntire asking Troye Sivan what poppers are was not on my 2023 bingo card.”

The adorable interaction came days before Troye released his highly anticipated third album, Something To Give Each Other. 

Made up of 10 immersive pop tracks – including his hit singles ‘Rush’ and ‘Got Me Started’ – the record is described as a celebration of “sex, dance, sweat, community, queerness, love, and friendship.”

Since its release, the album has received universal praise from fans and critics for its unapologetically queer lyrical content, outstanding pop production, and Troye’s vocals. 

On 13 October, the beloved talent added another iconic moment to the Something To Give Each Other era by releasing his new music video for ‘One Of Your Girls,’ which featured him in stunning drag.

Channelling the likes of Janet Jackson, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, the Aussie talent delivered iconic dance routines and sickening outfits. He also straddled Chilling Adventures of Sabrina hunk Ross Lynch during a sensual lap dance. An icon, truly.
