Jill Scott has made history as the first LGBTQ+ woman to win I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.
Over the last few weeks, the former Lioness player won the hearts of viewers for her down-to-earth attitude and loveable personality.
After competing in numerous Bushtucker Trails and Deals on Wheels challenges, the beloved athlete was named Queen of the Jungle after racking in 57.7% of the public vote (per Sky Sports).
“I just can’t believe it. Honestly, I think I’m going to owe my grandma a lot of money for the 12 million votes she’s done. We were one big team, I don’t think there should be one winner, we couldn’t have got through it without all of us,” she told the show’s hosts, Ant Mcpartlin and Delcan Donnelly, after winning.
In response to Scott’s landmark win, fans flocked to social media to send congratulatory messages to the 35-year-old athlete.
One fan wrote: “My wife and I are so happy that @JillScottJS8 won #ImACeleb you, my darling, ARE A LEGEND #CHUFFED.”
Another fan tweeted: “Just finished #ImACeleb, so so happy for @JillScottJS8! A worthy winner. @OwenWarner was amazing as well, either could have won and I’d have been happy! So what do we do at 9 pm every evening now?”
Scott also received support from her industry peers, including England footballers Lauren Hemp and Beth Mead.

Mead echoed similar sentiments on social media, writing: “I’m so proud of you @JillScottJS8 QUEEN OF THE JUNGLE.”
Throughout 2022, Scott has made an array of landmark achievements within her personal and professional life.
In addition to her I’m a Celebrity win, the former midfielder and the Lionesses earned England’s first major women’s championship when they took home the Euro 2022 title in July.
A month after the coveted tournament, Scott shocked fans when she announced her retirement after playing football for 18 years.
“I may be saying my goodbyes to football, but we’re going to make this a celebration,” Scott wrote. “No sad faces!! We’ve had too much fun for any tears,” she wrote in the Players Tribune.
With 2022 nearly over, we can’t wait to see what else Scott achieves in the new year.
