What did we do to deserve Little Mix?
During their Manchester concert on Friday 15 November, the chart-topping girl group and longtime LGBTQ allies paused their show to help a fan propose to his boyfriend in front of the entire arena.
“Tom, do you have anything you’d like to say to Adam?” the girls asked as the stage was lit up in rainbow colours, with the couple appearing on a big screen behind them.
Following knowing cheers from the crowd, Tom said: “This guy is the most amazing person I’ve ever met, he inspires me to be the best version of me I can be, and this [Secret Love Song] is our song so I want to dedicate it to him.”
He then got down on one knee and asked his partner: “Will you send the rest of your life with me?”
Of course, he said yes!
“Tom and Adam you’ve made us cry,” the girls joked, before dedicating their performance of Secret Love Song – an LGBTQ anthem – to the couple.
The moment was praised by fans, who shared videos of the special moment on social media.
“Definitely one of the most special moments of this tour. It’s so beautiful that the girls inspire moments like this,” wrote one fan.
“This is so beautiful. Congratulations to the both of them! It’s amazing how he chose a Little Mix concert as the special place to propose,” added another.
Earlier this year, Little Mix showed support for the LGBTQ community by displaying rainbow flags in Dubai, where homosexuality is illegal.
