Megan Barton-Hanson has opened up about connecting with other LGBTQ+ individuals on OnlyFans.
Back in 2019, the young influencer – who appeared on the fourth season of Love Island – came out as bisexual in an interview with The Sun.
Since that fateful day, the 25-year-old model has remained an open book regarding her sexuality and life experiences.
On Bisexual Visibility Day, Barton-Hanson opened up about her journey and the importance of bisexual representation in an essay for Metro.
“I try not to pigeonhole myself and often call myself pansexual interchangeably, but there’s one thing I’m absolutely sure of – bisexual people need to be more visible. It’s why I’m out and proud,” she said.
Elsewhere in her piece, Barton-Hanson revealed that her OnlyFans account has been a great way to connect with people who are starting to explore their sexuality.
“My OnlyFans has been a great way for me to connect with people and to start conversations about sexuality. In fact, I’ve been inundated with messages from men who identify as straight, telling me they want to explore their sexuality without women thinking they’re just gay,” she explained.
“I always tell them that they shouldn’t need to feel this pressure to label themselves or conform to stereotypes. Open up to close friends or family about your desires to explore, and they should be able to support you.

“I also warn them that if they open up to a woman about exploring their sexuality but they have a problem with it, run for the hills! It’s a massive red flag, and it speaks more about her insecurities than anything else.”
Lastly, Barton-Hanson expressed her hopes that bisexual representation will become more prevalent in media – especially when it comes to Love Island.
“I honestly think an LGBTQ+ version of the show is so needed – especially for bisexual men,” she continued.
“We need more representation on mainstream TV for sure. If they need a host or contestant, I’m open to doing both – just get me in there!”
Barton-Hanson’s heartwarming essay isn’t the first time that she’s been candid about her journey as a bisexual woman.
Back in June, the young model opened up to Bustle about coming out after leaving Love Island due to the harmful stigmas bi people face.
“Bisexual people are sometimes viewed by society as being greedy, overly sexual,” she explained.
“I got a lot of backlash on the show because I was a sexual woman. So at the time, the last thing I would’ve felt comfortable doing was reveal that I like dating women as well. I was afraid of being judged further.”
