Lukas Gage has set the record straight on those Archie Madekwe dating rumours.
On 10 March, The White Lotus star and Saltburn talent made waves with fans after they were spotted attending Vanity Fair’s Oscars after-party together.
When a paparazzi from TMZ asked if Madekwe was Gage’s boyfriend, the latter cheekily responded, “Yeah, this is my new husband. Yeah, it’s Archie.”
However, before fans could truly ship the two emerging talents, the Euphoria star revealed they were just friends during an additional interview with the news outlet.
Gage also poked fun at the rumours, adding: “Archie’s the best. I’ll take the [speculation] as a compliment. Archie’s a hottie. He’s a good one.”
Toward the end of his brief interview, which took place at LAX, the Down Low star gave insight into his actual love life and whether he’s searching for love on dating apps.
“You know [I’m] taking a break from them. They’re not for me right now,” he explained. “Right now, I’m finding myself. I’m dating me, you know.”
Gage’s recent interview comes a few months after his whirlwind romance with Chris Appleton came to a shocking close.
The 28-year-old talent and celebrity hairstylist were first linked in February 2023 when the latter shared photos of their vacation in Punta de Mita, Mexico.

While the two remained coy on their relationship status, Appleton confirmed they were dating while appearing on The Drew Berrymore Show in March 2023.
“Yeah, actually,” he told legend and icon Drew Barrymore. “I’m very happy. Very much in love, and I feel very grateful to be able to share my time with someone very special.”
He continued: “Love is a really special thing, and I think meeting someone that you really connect with is really, really special.”
The following month, the two lovebirds tied the knot in Las Vegas at the famous Little White Chapel.
According to Page Six, their union was an intimate affair, with only six guests, including Kim Kardashian, who officiated the wedding.
Unfortunately, their love story didn’t last. In November 2023, Appleton filed for divorce after six months of marriage.
While Gage has remained relatively mum about the ordeal, he recently gave an update on his life post-divorce while attending the 2024 SXSW premiere of his new film Road House.
“It’s been great. It’s been a year of learning, growing, changing—yeah, just constant change. Life’s always changing,” he revealed to PEOPLE.
“Everything’s great. Yeah, it’s been really good.”
