Say hello to the all-new Fab Five, who are on a mission to turn red states pink…
This February, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy will return to our screens, but this time out it’s on Netflix with five different men leading the makeovers.
Antoni Porowski (Food & Wine), Bobby Berk (Interior Design), Karamo Brown (Culture), Jonathan Van Ness (Grooming) and Tan France (Fashion) will be the show’s new gay life coaches, handing out much-needed advice.
What’s more, the new series of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy will move beyond the confines of New York City to “turn red states pink…one makeover at a time.”
“It’s a new time with a new audience,” series creator David Collins told Entertainment Weekly. “If the original round was about tolerance, this time it is about acceptance.”

Executive producer Rob Eric added: “In order to make the emotions bigger, you actually had to see how [the Fab Five] were reacting to being with a cop from the South who was a Trump supporter, [or] ‘hillbilly Tom,’ who refers to himself by saying ‘you can’t fix ugly.’
“These guys walked away truly loving every single hero that they made over and talked about them for weeks afterward. It affected them just as much as they affected our hero.”
As for the original Fab Five – consisting of Carson Kressley, Ted Allen, Kyan Douglas, Thom Filicia, and Jai Rodriguez – showing up in the new series, Collins wouldn’t rule it out completely.
“Well, I’m not going to say no or never because you never know, but the new team is there and… I can’t say no because who knows, maybe we will do something where they all come together,” he said.
“But I think right now it’s the new show, it’s the new Fab Five and they are definitely out there in the red states and seeing the world.
“It’s kind of their moment and their time, but definitely the original guys, the OG, are thrilled for us.”
