Speaking to GAY TIMES last year, the band shared the significance of writing music that resonates with the LGBTQ+ community.

“It’s such a purpose-giving experience when a song resonates with a certain community — it’s so affirming,” Naomi shared. “We have a heart-soul connection, and that is so meaningful. We’re so aware that someone is going to listen to this and it’s not just us.”

“It keeps us going as a band. It’s the purpose of making a song that is for someone else. I believe in the power of MUNA, which is a thing that is outside of the three of us and that has always been the guiding principle of whatever we do,” Josette added.

Outside of sharing new music, MUNA have been on tour, as an opening act, on Taylor Swift’s North America Eras Tour.

The Blank Space singer praised the “amazing” opening act during their debut last month (March 31) in Arlington, Texas.

MUNA have opened up for Swift at the first of three Eras tour stadium shows, at the AT&T Stadium, where the singer has cited the band to be “all over every playlist of mine”.

“They’re a band I love so much,” said Swift. “They’re honestly all over every playlist of mine and I’m so happy they joined us tonight because they’re fantastic and they absolutely killed it,” she continued before she asked the crowd to make “so much noise” for them.
