The first teaser trailer for Our Flag Means Death season two has finally arrived.

Spoilers ahead.

Back in June 2022, Max announced that the pirate dramedy would be returning to the sea and our screens for a sophomore season.

“We are so happy to bring this truly one-of-a-kind series back! We congratulate David, Taika, Rhys and the entire talented cast and crew, and thank the show’s fans for embracing it wholeheartedly,” said Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content at Max, at the time.

Since that fateful day, the popular streamer has slowly released new information about the forthcoming batch of episodes, including a new jampacked teaser trailer.

At the start of the eye-opening sneak peek, Stede Bonnett (Rhys Darby) is shown throwing a bottle into the sea, which includes a heartfelt letter to Blackbeard (Taika Waititi).

“Dear Ed, I love everything about you. I love being near you. Breathing the same air,” Stede is heard saying in a voice-over.

The scene then transitions to Blackbeard – who has reverted back to his old ruthless pirating ways – throwing a knife at the wall, while saying “F**k you, Stede Bonnett.”

Towards the end of the brief trailer, Stede and Blackbeard are shown dealing with their separation in entirely different ways, with the former desperately hoping to reunite and the latter terrorizing innocent ships.

“Do you think Blackbeard’s gonna murder you?” Oluwande asks Stede, to which he responds, “I don’t care what any of you say. He’s actually a good guy.”
