Phoebe Bridgers has opened up about the importance of abortion rights in a new interview.
In June, the Supreme Court overturned the landmark 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling that legalised abortion nationwide.
“The Constitution does not confer a right to abortion; Roe and Casey are overruled; and the authority to regulate abortion is returned to the people and their elected representatives,” the Supreme Court wrote in a document.
Due to the recent ruling, many states within the US are either set to restrict or ban the procedure altogether.
Shortly after the decision was announced, an array of human rights activists and high-profile celebrities slammed the court, including Bridgers.
During her Glastonbury appearance, the young talent chanted, “F**k the Supreme Court.”
“F**k that s**t, f**k America. Like all these irrelevant motherf**kers trying to tell us what to do with our f**king bodies,” she added.
In a new interview with Teen Vogue, Bridgers gave further insight regarding her thoughts on the Roe v. Wade reversal.
“Don’t let anybody freak you out about an abortion. Because unless you’re doing it in an unsafe way, there are resources for you if you’re trying to get on – and you should f**king have one, for whatever reason,” she said.

Bridgers also spoke about how access to reproductive health care has become even more limited since the court’s reversal.
“I just think middle-class, upper-class white people are always gonna have access to health care and abortion, whether it’s through flying [to another state] or even access to f**king organisations,” she explained.
“It’s just so much harder for people that it was already hard for, so I like the organisations that are making life easier for those people.”
Bridger’s recent interview isn’t the first time she’s opened up about her feelings on abortion rights.
Back in May, the Moon Song artist revealed to fans that she underwent the aforementioned procedure in October 2021.
“I had an abortion in October of last year while I was on tour. I went to Planned Parenthood, where they gave me the abortion pill. It was easy. Everyone deserves that kind of access,” she wrote in an Instagram story.
Bridgers’ post also included a list of organisations that helped raise funds for abortion access in states with restrictive rules.
