Pink has released another track from her forthcoming studio album, Hurts 2B Human.
Featuring electronic group Cash Cash, Can We Pretend sees the American singer-songwriter ditch the pop/rock sound for a dancier, club-vibe, and like we said in the headline, it’s a future summer smash.
“So can we pretend that I’m 22 today / dancin’ on the tables with you / can we pretend that we all end up okay / I just wanna forget with you,” she sings on the track. “Can we pretend that we both like the president / can we pretend that I really like your shoes / can we pretend, cause honestly reality it bores me.”
Can We Pretend is now available on iTunes and streaming services. Listen below.
Can We Pretend is the third track taken from her upcoming eighth studio album, Hurts 2B Human, following Hustle and Walk Me Home, the latter of which became Pink’s groundbreaking 20th top ten hit in the UK.
Hurts 2B Human will be Pink’s first album since her 2017 release Beautiful Trauma, which topped the charts in countries such as the UK, US, Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Ireland, New Zealand, Scotland.
It’s been certified platinum in the US and 2xPlatinum in the UK. Not bad in the age of streaming eh?
Since her debut in 2000, Pink has won three Grammy Awards, a Daytime Emmy Award, sold 57 million albums and has 15 top ten singles in the US (including four number ones). She also received the prestigious Michael Jackson Vanguard Award at the VMAs and Outstanding Contribution to Music at the BRIT Awards.
We recently ranked every single Pink album from worst to best. Does her R&B debut Can’t Take Me Home take the top spot? Perhaps her pop/rock follow-up, M!ssundaztood? Or her latest release, Beautiful Trauma? Click here to find out which one comes out on top.
