American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy has confirmed that the witches of Coven will make a comeback.
The American director, screenwriter and producer was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday, and revealed some details about the future of the critically-acclaimed horror series.
“The witches will be back,” Murphy told ET, before adding: “Not next season. But we have something really fun planned.”
The fan-favourite characters, played by Sarah Paulson, Emma Roberts, Taissa Farmiga, Frances Conroy, Gabourey Sidibe and Lily Rabe, made their AHS debut in Coven, before returning in the series’ latest instalment, Apocalypse.
The latter season ended with a cliffhanger, so fans have been waiting in anticipation to see what the follow-up holds.
When asked about the ninth season, Murphy refused to reveal any details, but said: “I can’t say what it is! I’m going to this luncheon, and many of the Horror Story actors are there, and I’m gonna tell them for the first time. So I have to tell them first.”

Last week, OG American Horror Story star Connie Britton said she’s open to a comeback.
The American actress, who played the main lead in the show’s first season Murder House, said she’s willing to come back in an interview with The Wrap.
She told the publication: “It’s always possible! It’s always possible. And, you know, in the world of Ryan Murphy I’m usually pretty quick to say yes, because I adore him, and I adore working with and he always puts together such a great group of people. So we shall see.”
