Eternals star Barry Keoghan has shut down rumours regarding this NSFW Saltburn scene.

Back in November 2023, the Emerald Fennell-directed psychological thriller became a massive hit with pop culture enthusiasts.

Set in 2006, the “beautifully wicked tale” follows Oliver Quick (Keoghan), an Oxford University student who finds himself drawn into the world of the charming and aristocratic Felix Catton (Jacob Elordi).

The synopsis reads: “Struggling to find his place at Oxford University, student Oliver Quick (Keoghan) finds himself drawn into the world of the charming and aristocratic Felix Catton (Elordi), who invites him to Saltburn, his eccentric family’s sprawling estate, for a summer never to be forgotten.”

Following its release, the film received universal acclaim from fans and critics, with many praising its dark humour, boundary-pushing plot, and cast performances.

However, one of the many moments from Saltburn that left viewers gooped and gagged was Keoghan’s final scene.

After killing Elspeth Catton (Rosamund Pike), which results in him securing the entire Catton fortune and the Saltburn estate, Oliver is shown dancing about the mansion naked to ‘Murder on the Dancefloor.’

Despite the film nearly reaching its year anniversary, fans have continued to speculate if Keoghan performed the scene in the buff or if movie magic was involved.

Fortunately, the Eternals star set the record straight during a recent interview on The Louis Theroux Podcast.

After Theroux mentioned rumours of him wearing a prosthetic and being “enhanced,” the 32-year-old actor exclaimed: “Wait, enhanced? Who said that? Nah. Who said that? Wow, wow.

“It was all me. No, but it was a thing that I didn’t really bat an eyelid to. I would bat an eyelid if it didn’t fit the story.”

Keoghan went on to give further insight into how his famous nude scene came to be.

“I remember me and Emerald having the chats and it started off with my clothes… she was like, ‘We just need to make it a bit more ownership,” he explained.

“He’s kind of got this mansion at the end. It’s his space. And when you have that space… we all do it at home. We walk around naked, do you know what I mean? Because we’re comfy, and this is our environment.”

Towards the end of his statement, The Banshees of Inisherin star joked that he was more worried about the scene’s cheeky choreography than his nudity.

“I don’t like dancing, you know. If it’s required… weirdly, when it’s the character again, [it’s] this kind of thing of, when it’s not you, you’ll do it,” he added.

This isn’t the first time Keoghan opened up about Saltburn and his various NSFW scenes.

When appearing on Hot Ones in February, the Gladiator II star said his he pushed himself to the limit while filming the shocking graveyard scene.

“I mean, I shagged a grave in Saltburn, right? Can’t get closer to death or getting mud diseases in your…” he joked. “I should get that checked.”

Keoghan said that even though the graveyard scene was intense to film, he loves going to extremes in his movies.

“Saltburn really pushed it. Every role pushes it, and I like to be pushed. I don’t want something comfy,” he continued.
