The first trailer for Wonder Woman: 1984 has landed.
The sequel will take place in 1984 during The Cold War and will see the title character (Gal Gadot) face-off against Barbara Minerva (Kristen Wiig), a friend-turned-foe who later becomes Wonder Woman’s arch-nemesis, Cheetah.
Diana will also come into conflict with business man and entrepreneur, Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal). Chris Pine returns as American pilot and Diana’s love interest Steve Trevor, who presumably died during the events of the first film.
Robin Wright and Connie Nielson also reprise their roles as Antiope and Hippolyta, Diana’s aunt and mother.
1984 will be Wonder Woman’s fourth live-action adventure, following Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Wonder Woman (2017) and Justice League (2017), and second full-length feature film centered around the character.
Her 2017 solo film received universal critical acclaim and grossed over $820 million worldwide.
