The 10 most popular same-sex wedding songs of 2019 have been revealed.
Eventopedia analysed thousands of songs from Spotify playlists that featured the terms “gay wedding 2019” and “LGBT wedding” in order to find the songs that same-sex couples are leaning towards for their big day.
The number one spot went to Whitney Houston’s classic 1987 hit single I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me), which currently has over 371 million plays on the popular music streaming platform.
Party staple Dancing Queen by Swedish supergroup ABBA came in second place, while It’s Raining Men by The Weather Girls grabbed third place, and Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson finished in fourth place.

Using the data collected, it was decided that the ‘ideal’ same-sex wedding song for this year was released on average in 1988, with an average length of 4:06 and an average tempo of 120bpm.
“Gay weddings are generally much more eclectic,” said Nik Hudson, Director of award-winning wedding playlist experts Go Louder.
“The first dance can be anything from a movie soundtrack to house music with a range of 70s 80s and 90s throughout the night with a selection of gay-friendly pop echoing the clubs and bars they frequent.”
