Discovery+ has released the first trailer for its highly anticipated docuseries exploring the deaths of three Glee stars.
The Price of Glee will delve into the global phenomenon the show became and the tragedy it has since been marred by.
“The bigger the show went, the smaller their worlds become,” an interviewee can be heard saying in the trailer.
It will include never-heard-before stories and will explore the role fame played in the deaths of Cory Monteith, Naya Rivera and Mark Selling.
Monteith died at the age of 31 from a drug overdose in 2013, while Sellling took his own life in 2018 after he pleaded guilty to possessing images of child sex abuse.
Scenes of Lake Piru, where Naya Rivera died on a boating trip at the age of 33 in 2020, are featured prominently in the trailer as the star’s tragic passing is set to be a focus of the series.
There is a noticeable absence of the series’ surviving cast members, though Rivera’s father is set to appear.
The three-part docuseries is set to be released on 16 January on Discovery+.
