Daddy, daddy cool.

You may think all dads are the same (no, they don’t all want cufflinks for Father’s Day), but there are those that would rather peruse an art gallery than be taken on a fishing weekend, and those that want luxury in the country rather than a trip to the rugby.

Because it’s impossible to please our own dads, we’ve come up with seven ideas for the different types of dad, whether it’s his tricky eating habits or his refined taste in the arts (or just his love of pizza and beer).

ARTSIE DAD

If your dad is less football and more fine art, then the latest exhibition at the Tate Britain explores the great British artists that strove to represent human figures, with some famous works from Freud (including his painting of muse Sue Tilley), alongside work from Francis Bacon and rare works from Paula Rego – a must see!

If you’re not lucky enough to be a member of Soho House, non-members can actually stay at their Cotswold’s hotel by simply filling out a reservation enquiry on the website. The exclusive retreat boasts everything from an indoor/outdoor pool, multiple restaurants and a spa. We’d opt for the adorable bell tents!

BOTTOMLESS POPS

For those who are looking for a good social session then the new Canova Hall In Brixton is the perfect place for a relaxed meal in a buzzing atmosphere, with plenty of drinks. Just add an extra £22 per person and you can select from some bottomless aperitif’s to enjoy for two solid hours…probably best not to book anything for afterwards, this can get pretty serious. Also the pizza here is to die for!

Our fave vegan restaurant Tibits are giving out a free vegan Freedom lager to every father on the day alongside their famous boat of Vegetarian and Vegan food (which even though we’re not vegan, is still incredible food) – sit in the sun room at the Bankside restaurant for a long lazy afternoon with delicious food.

MOVIE-BUFF DAD

We have no idea why we’ve never been to this before but the Rooftop Film Club has three locations around London that show your faves against the famous skyline. On Father’s Day they’re showing the classic Edward Scissor Hands – sit back in your deck chair, grab a cocktail (or a beer for dad) and enjoy a classic under the stars.
