A teaser has dropped for the new season of Netflix’s Selling Sunset, which has shown Chrishell Stause double down on her support of her partner G Flip after being misgendered.

In the clip Stause is at lunch with Marie-Lou Nuerk, the new girlfriend of her ex-boyfriend Jason Oppenheim, who is on the phone.

Nuerk phones Oppenheim and says: “I’m here with Chrishell. I think she doesn’t really want to be friends with me. And she told me it’s because I was jealous and I was crying.”

Immediately, Stause cuts in: “I never said you were jealous, those words never one time came out of my mouth, never one time. You know this is all on camera right? I didn’t just say that.”

“What am I missing that happened when the four of us hung out in Australia? That was not a nice time, I thought it was. What happened?” Stause asks Nuerk.

“It was a nice time, but…” responds Nuerk, to which Stause interjects and says: “It is not my job to ask you questions. I’m sorry, it’s not.”

The conversation pivots and G Flip, who identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, is brought into the conversation.

“I really like G a lot. She’s so nice to me.” Nuerk professed, in the process of which she misgendered the musician.

Stause comes to her partner’s defence as she clarifies: “Okay my partner is non-binary. They use they/them pronouns, this is a simple thing and this is the depth of our relationship where the most important person in my life you don’t know their pronouns, which is totally fine.

“But my point is that you also don’t know me. I’m not going to be your friend. I don’t have anything in common with you”.

After the clip was aired Stause took to her Instagram Story to further stand by her partner: “Also to the haters in the comments where this was posted, if you don’t have a partner that would correct pronouns, or correct what you preferred to be called etc. when they know it’s going out to 190 countries … Please raise your standards!

“There is only ONE thing I don’t play about and it’s the person that has changed my life for the better. If that makes me less palatable to some-luckily for you, we aren’t married to each other then.”

Stause has long used her platform on the show and broader social media to continue to defend her queerness, relationship with G Flip and promote pronoun education.

The pair got married earlier this year in May, after a year of dating. The realtor announced their marriage on Instagram in the summer, when she posted: “Love doesn’t always go as planned… Sometimes it’s immeasurably better.”
