POP EMERGENCY: Chappell Roan has finally met Sasha Colby, and fans are buzzing.

Since getting her big break in the music sphere, the emerging talent has consistently used her platform to praise and uplift the drag community, especially the Drag Race season 15 winner.

In May 2024, the ‘Red Wine Supernova’ singer named Sasha as her favourite drag queen, adding that the beloved performer inspired her iconic “I’m your favourite artist’s favourite artist” Coachella moment.

“She famously said, ‘I’m your favourite drag queen’s favourite drag queen.’ Me saying ‘I’m your favourite artist’s favourite artist at Coachella was a nod to her, how much I admire her, and how much drag is intertwined with my project. She is everythinggg 2 me,” she wrote.

A month later, Chappell gave further insight into the impact Sasha’s phrase has had on her during an appearance on The Tonight Show.

“It just hit me through the heart, and so I was like, ‘I hope Sasha Colby one day watches me,’ and that’s why I said it,” she added.

Since that fateful day, fans have waited with bated breath for the two legends to meet.

Fortunately, their prayers were answered on 19 July when their worlds collided at the Capitol Hill Block Party in Seattle, Washington.

In a video capturing their meeting, Sasha embraces a visibly excited Chappell, who wastes no time praising the former’s sickening lace body suit.

While the clip was brief, and most of their conversation was drowned out by music, their adorable meeting was an immediate hit with fans.

One person on X, formerly known as Twitter, wrote: “Look how happy she is. I’m going to cry. OMG, I know she was screaming internally lol.”

Another user commented: “The way she keeps bouncing around so excited is so adorable.”

A third fan tweeted: “She’s so happy. I’m gonna cry.”

Fortunately, Chappell and Sasha’s epic interaction didn’t stop backstage.

While performing her hit song ‘Hot To Go,’ the beloved talent surprised attendees by bringing out the Miss Continental winner, who slayed the stage with dips, turns and her signature ponytail hairography.

“Thank you so much, Sasha Colby, everyone. My favourite drag queen,” Chappell exclaimed at the end of their performance.

The pair’s unforgettable collaboration came a day after Sasha praised Chappell in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

“It’s always been so lovely, because drag has always been a mirror of pop culture. Since Drag Race, we are pop, the tastemakers, and pop girlies look to us for inspiration –– much like Chappell Roan,” she told the news outlet.

“All I can say is, goddess sees goddess, you know? Greatness sees greatness! Your favourite artist’s favourite artist, baby!”
