Alaska has shared some exciting behind-the-scenes tea about All Stars 2′s premiere episode, and we are gagged.
In 2016, RuPaul blessed fans with arguably one of the best seasons in the Drag Race franchise: All Stars 2.
The iconic entry saw the return of Adore Delano, Alaska, Alyssa Edwards, Coco Montrese, Detox, Ginger Minj, Katya, Phi Phi O’Hara, Roxxxy Andrews and Tatiana as they battled it out for the crown and a spot in the Drag Race Hall of Fame.
After eight episodes filled with sickening runway ensembles, show-stopping lip-syncs, incredible maxi-challenge performances and a new elimination format, Alaska was crowned the winner and new member of the ‘Drag Race Hall of Fame.’
While it’s been nearly 10 years since the beloved season hit our screens, it has left an unforgettable impact on viewers, with many still eager to learn more about the iconic piece of television.
Fortunately, on 7 August, fans’ prayers were finally answered when Alaska and Drag Race season four alum Willam started the All Stars 2 recap on their podcast Race Chaser.
“Our goal with the podcast is to do every single episode without skipping any, so here we are,” Alaska said at the start of the episode.
“I hate this. This has been giving me nightmares. I have not watched this show since it aired. I put this away into a cabinet, and so we’re here tonight, and we are doing it.”
While Alaska admitted to feeling nervous about the recap, it didn’t stop her from sharing some exciting behind-the-scenes tea – including unaired moments from the season’s first episode.
When discussing the talent show maxi-challenge, the ‘Sweatpants’ singer revealed that she was assigned to set up the lineup.
“There’s a whole part of this day that they didn’t show on this. I think by winning the mini-challenge, it was my job to put the running order together for this,” she explained.
“And so I was going around the room and like asking everyone what they were doing so I could put it in a proper order.”
However, when she got to Tatiana, Alaska said the season two star kept her talent – the iconic ‘Same Parts’ spoken word piece – a secret.
“She was like, ‘I’m just doing a little something you’ll see,’ and I was like ‘Ok, but what is it? Because I have to put you [in an order],'” she continued.

“[She was like] ‘I’m just gonna do a little something, you’ll see.’ So she’s very smart. She had the element of boots surprise.”
The talent show wasn’t the first time Tatiana gagged the other queens in the premiere episode.
When reviewing their workroom entrances, Alaska said that she and the other queens were “cracked” after the season two favourite walked through the door.
“They give you a list of potential queens who are going to be there because we did the reading [mini] challenge. So before we even walked in, there was a list, Trixie was on it, there was a whole bunch of people on it,” she explained.
“But you still didn’t know, and we were all gagged that Tatiana was there from season two, looking lovely.”
