The White Lotus star Lukas Gage has shared his thoughts on the rumours surrounding his love life.

Back in February, Gage and celebrity hairstylist Chris Appleton made waves when they Instagram-ed snapshots from their vacation in Punta de Mita, Mexico.

In the photos, the two are shown on top of a four-wheeler, driving around with helmets and posing in the sea.

For the captions, Gage wrote “la mejor,” which means “the best,” while Appleton settled on “joyride”.

Shortly after posts were uploaded, a source told Just Jared that the duo were indeed an item but had minimal details.

Pop culture enthusiasts also went into a frenzy after Appleton’s “work wife” Mary Phillips commented, “IG official,” on the former’s photo.

“Nothing soft about this launch,” one fan wrote.

Another follower commented: “Please somebody tell me I’m not crazy and they’re obviously dating. Thank you.”

Over the last few weeks, Gage has remained mum on the speculation until now.

During a recent interview with The New York Times, the You star refrained from confirming the romance rumours, stating: “If they want to think that, they can.

“I’m a pretty open book about most things in my life, but I have a problem with the culture of everyone needing to know everybody’s business and nothing can be sacred. It’s a weird line that I’m still trying to figure out.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Gage opened up about his interaction with a Twitter user who was upset over the amount of LGBTQ+ roles he’s played.

“If Hollywood can stop hiring non LGBTQIA+ actors like @lukasgage to play LGBTQIA+ characters, that would be great,” the person wrote in June 2022. “He has played 4 so far. 1 was enough.”

In response to the user’s criticism, Gage tweeted, “u don’t know my alphabet.”

When asked by the New York Times if he has felt pressure to label his sexuality, the Fargo actor said, “all the time”.

“An agent that dropped me was like, ‘Stop dyeing your hair, stop wearing weird clothes and pick a lane: gay, bi, or straight. It’s too confusing,'” Gage revealed.

“I understand representation and voices that need to be heard, but I don’t want to do anything on anyone’s accord but my own. Let me do it when I’m ready. And it’s acting. I feel like everyone should get the opportunity to play whatever they want.”

Gage’s recent interview comes a few weeks after he made his debut in the fourth season of Netflix’s You.

In the new batch of episodes, the Euphoria star played Adam Pratt – a wealthy brat and the son of a rich East Coast family. His character also served as a brand new foil for Penn Padgley’s toxic murderer Joe Goldberg.
