Young Royals star Edvin Ryding has clapped back on social media to ask people to “stop making comments” on his appearance.
A casual dump from Ryding showcasing a carousel of images with a combination of seasonal selfies and social hangs was met with a slew of negativity towards his appearance.
On Monday (30 October), Ryding confronted the unnecessary backlash and requested people to refrain from commenting on his aesthetic. “Hello, I’d like to kindly ask you to stop making comments on my physical appearance. It’s making me uncomfortable. Thank you,” he wrote over Twitter/X.
The post has been met with swathes of support with many people condemning the initial unwarranted backlash, with many left questioning “how can people be so mean?” In light of the tweet, fans flocked back to the original post to praise the actor for “speaking up” and to “never change”.
The 20-year-old rose to fame starring in Netflix’s Young Royals. The critically acclaimed LGBTQIA+ drama first aired on screens in 2021.
On 28 June, the streamer confirmed that the filming for the new third season had wrapped. In a surprise to fans, Rying and co-star Omar Rudberg made the announcement via a video.
“Hi everybody! This is Edvin and Omar coming to you from the set of Young Royals,” Ryding said. “We just wanted to let you know that Young Royals and season three is done,” Rudberg said.
The duo went on to reveal their favourite scene from the final season and thanked fans for their continued support.
“Anyway, we just wanted to say thank you so much for supporting us throughout the years and we really look forward to seeing you this season. We think you’re going to love it,” Ryding said.
Rudberg added: “Thank you so much for the support, everybody. We love you.”

Since rising to fame in Young Royals, Ryding has cultivated a 2.4 million following on Instagram. To mark the end of his time on the series, he addressed fans: “Thank you. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. These past three years gave me so much more than I ever could have imagined when I stepped into the first audition back in May 2020.
“I can’t emphasise enough how majestic the process of shooting these three seasons has been. Every single individual who’s worked on Young Royals has done so in the most extraordinary way every single day.”
Rudberg continued the same heartful retrospective look back on X, writing: “Yesterday was a very emotional day for all of us. We’ve wrapped Young Royals forever.
“Can’t really take that in… But I’m so happy and proud. I can’t wait for you guys to see the ending of this story. This is THE season!!!”
