Star Trek and American Horror Story star Zachary Quinto will make his West End debut in the critically acclaimed Best of Enemies.
The play is a fictional retelling of the televised debates between William F Buckley Jr and Gore Vidal during the 1968 Republican and Democratic conventions.
Their rivalry revolutionised the way American current affairs and political TV debates were broadcast.
It opened at the Young Vic last year and will make its West End premiere in November. Best of Enemies will be housed at the Noël Coward Theatre for the entirety of its 14-week run.
Quinto has replaced Charles Edwards as Vidal and David Harewood will reprise his role as Buckley.

The 45-year-old said: “Living and working in London has long been an aspiration of mine. But to be making my West End debut in such a thrilling and relevant play amongst such a distinguished creative team far exceeds my expectations of what living and working in London would look like.”
“He was an incredibly formidable debater and an incredible author, and never shied away from expressing opinions about the political and social landscape and so I felt really magnetised to the idea of playing the character,” he added.
The show was written by James Graham and directed by Jeremy Herrin. It was inspired by a 2015 documentary of the same name.
Best of Enemies will be at the Noël Coward Theatre from 14 November 2022 – 18 February 2023.
