The queens deliver their best celebrity impressions on this week’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 15.
Spoilers ahead
For this week’s maxi challenge, the queens were tasked to compete in the franchise’s iconic Snatch Game. However this time around, Ru revealed that the coveted competition staple would feature a new twist.
“When it comes to charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent, too much is never enough. So for this week’s maxi-challenge, we’ll be serving a double helping of the Snatch Game,” Ru revealed.
“This season’s Snatch Game is gonna be longer, sicker, and juicier than ever before. For the first time in Drag Race herstory, we’ll be playing the game in two rounds, with two different cast of characters.”
Before leaving the workroom, Ru split the queens into two groups of seven.
Group one featured: Mistress Isabelle Brooks as Rosie O’Donnell, Anetra as Gorgena Ramsey, Robin Fierce as Karen Huger, Marcia Marcia Marcia as Tim Gunn, Malaysia Babydoll Foxx as Saucy Santana, Salina EsTitties as Virgin Mary, and Lux Noir London as Amanda Lepore.
Group Two consisted of Sugar as Trisha Paytas, Spice as Miley Cyrus, Sasha Colby as Jan Crouch, Jax as Mona Lisa, Loosey La Duca as Joan Rivers, Amethyst as Tan Mom, and Aura Mayari as Bretman Rock.
After polishing their impressions and moulding their looks to fit their celebrity personalities, the first group hit the stage.
While most of the ladies delivered hilarious jokes throughout the game, Mistress and Marcia consistently kept Ru and Pit Crew members Bruno and Calix in stitches.
Shortly after group one exited the stage, the second batch of queens arrived on the scene to take their stab at the infamous game – which featured Pit Crew members Bryce and Asaf as contestants.
Unfortunately, Sugar, Spice, and Aura struggled to land any jokes with Ru. However, Loosey’s Joan Rivers proved to be the hilarious stand-out of group two.
The next day, the queens hit the main stage to show off their best “Beautiful Nightmare” ensembles for the judges’ panel, which included Bodies, Bodies, Bodies star Amandla Stenberg.
After sashaying down the runway, Ru dismissed the safe queens before delivering critiques to the top and bottom contestants of the week.
In the end, Loosey was crowned the winner of the maxi-challenge, resulting in a “shocking” lip-sync performance between the two bottom queens of the night, Sugar and Spice.
Following an electric and choreographed performance to Pat Benatar’s You Better Run – which left the judges and the other queens gagged – Mama Ru named Spice the winner and asked Sugar to sashay away.
“I’m so grateful for this experience. It was so fun. And I’m so grateful to have Spice in my life. She’s so special to me, and I’m going to be rooting her on from the sidelines,” Sugar said in an emotional exit interview.
On next week’s episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race, the queens are tasked with turning home decor into haute couture.
Here’s how fans reacted to Sugar and Spice’s highly anticipated lip-sync.
sugar and spice choreographing a lip sync together cos they knew producers were gonna put them both in the bottom at some point is iconic behaviour. i’m sad it was so soon 🙁

Where where you when Sugar and Spice had to lip sync for their lives??

i can’t stop thinking about how sugar and spice just choreographed a lipsync battle against eachother. like their brain is too smart im sorry they served. double shantay for me

The planned sugar and spice lip sync happened way too soon. Production should have saved that for mid-season at least #DragRace

sugar and spice choreographing their lipsync is genius, incredible, phenomenal, everything, etc

I get the whole Sugar and Spice vibe but people saying it should have been a double shantay are wild there are 16 queens to get through and even they knew production would have them lip sync otherwise they wouldn’t have choreographed it 😂 #DragRace

catching up on the episode and production really made sugar and spice lipsync against eachother…. #dragrace pic.twitter.com/az0BPQ2xPs

Getting rid of Sugar and Spice this early was a production mistake. Their lip sync wasn’t high stakes enough at this point in the competition for there to be a big payout. They lost a story line.

and like,, we all knew the were gonna have sugar and spice lipsync at some point, why couldn’t they have given them a song that worked for their vibe like that’s such a weird oversight to me like if you’re gonna over produce anyway then OVERPRODUCE

me watching sugar and spice lipsync against eachother even though we all knew it was gonna happen one week or another pic.twitter.com/GHkYaRjBUf

Sugar and Spice knew producers were predictable and would make them lip sync. So, they choreographed their lip sync as open commentary and critique of how the show prioritizes choreographed moments over honest judging. In this essay I will….
