Keta Minaj has opened up about her Drag Race future following her recent UK vs the World exit.
For the fourth episode of the beloved UK-based series, the eight remaining queens – Choriza May, Gothy Kendall, Hannah Conda, Keta Minaj, La Grande Dame, Marina Summers, Scarlet Envy and Tia Kofi – flexed their best celebrity impersonations for the franchise’s staple maxi-challenge, Snatch Game.
While the majority of the queens achieved the goal of making Mama Ru laugh, Keta and Gothy’s impersonations of Fran Drescher and Kim Woodburn failed to impress the judges’ panel, resulting in their bottom two placements.
After the challenge winners – Tia and Hannah – delivered a shows=topping lip-sync to Alcazar’s hit track ‘Crying At The Discoteque,’ the Dutch drag talent was selected as the queen to go home, much to the disappointment of fans.
One X (formerly known as Twitter) user wrote: “Still can’t believe we’ve been forced to live in a world where Keta Minaj didn’t at least make top 4.”
Another viewer tweeted: “I don’t think a lot of fans will understand how heartbreaking it is to witness Keta Minaj be the robbed queen of Holland S2 and now get eliminated for #DragRaceUK vs the World. She deserves a lot of love; please give her everything.”
Following her elimination, Keta spilt all the tea to GAY TIMES about her time on Drag Race UK vs the World season two, including her lack of preparation for the Snatch Game.
“What can I say? I wasn’t in a good headspace, to be honest. Also, with the preparation for the show, I was very focused on the looks, not really on the Snatch Game,” she explained.
“Of course, I was like, ‘I’m gonna win this, I’m gonna kill this,’ but you have to do a little bit of research. And I did, but in the heat of the moment, it didn’t work out for me.”
While the beloved talent’s time on UK vs the World has sadly ended, Keta revealed that she would return to another All-Stars-esque season in the future.
“I need to redeem myself! Everybody saw a Keta that was there but was not really there. I know I can kill it, and I didn’t do it,” she revealed.
“So, of course, I can be bitter like ‘oh my god, I ruined everything!’ but I’m so thankful for being on the show, for showcasing my looks. It was an amazing experience. Horrible, but amazing.”
