Maren Morris apologised to the queens during Drag Race: Untucked for country music’s treatment of the LGBTQ+ community.
On the third episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 15, the young talent served as a guest judge alongside RuPaul, Michelle Visage and Ts Madison.
For their third maxi-challenge, the queens were tasked with selling their vision of the afterlife – aka “The Queer After – by creating their own infomercials.
After watching their heavenly infomercials and presenting their “Metallica” ensembles on the main stage, the 15 contestants headed backstage to relax before the impending elimination.
While the judges critiqued the queens’ performances, the remaining contestants chatted about their time in the competition and who they thought would be in the bottom two.
The conversation was then interrupted by Morris, who showered the queens and the Drag Race franchise with praises.
“I have loved this show for so many years, and it’s crazy how far Drag Race has come because you all look like you’re walking on the finale right now, it’s like that level,” The Middle singer said.
After giving sage advice on how to deal with criticism, Morris gave a heartfelt apology to the LGBTQ+ community on behalf of country music.
“And coming from country music and its relationship with the LGBTQ+ members, I just want to say I’m sorry, and I love you guys for making me feel like a brave voice in country music,” she said. “So I just thank you, guys, for inspiring me. I’m gonna cry.”
Morris’ words proved to have a strong impact on the queens, including Mistress Isabelle Brookes, who replied: “Just you being here shows that you’re an ally.”

In an additional confessional, Spice praised Morris for being one of the few country music acts to express her “progressive ideals.”
“I love hearing Marren share her story because a lot of times with country artists, they can’t really express their more progressive ideals,” she explained. “Just her being here shows she can roll with the LGBT.”
The latest episode of Untucked isn’t the first time that Morris has showcased her support for the LGBTQ+ community.
Back in August, the Make You Say singer and fellow country star Cassadee Pope called out Brittany Aldean – a beauty influencer and wife of singer Jason Aldean – for making transphobic comments on Instagram.
“You’d think celebs with beauty brands would see the positives in including LGBTQ+ people in their messaging,” Pope wrote via Twitter.
Morris echoed similar sentiments in her own tweet, writing: “It’s so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ins and zip it, Insurrection Barbie.”
Unfortunately for Morris, her tweet was met with a response from Fox News host Tucker Carlson, who called the Grammy winner a “lunatic” and a “fake country music singer.”
However, instead of responding directly to Carlson’s unwarranted statement, the Craving You artist raised over $100,000 for the trans community by selling t-shirts with his outlandish quotes.
“Over $100K raised. Have a great Labor Day weekend, lunatics,” she wrote on Twitter.
