Victoria Scone makes Drag Race herstory with an epic marriage proposal on Canada vs the World

Spoilers ahead for the grand finale of Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs the World.  

If you’ve been keeping up with Canada’s Drag Race: Canada vs the World, then chances are you’ve watched the electric grand finale and Ra’Jah O’Hara’s incredible win. 

While the final episode of the season was full of sickening lip-syncs and jaw-dropping runway lewks, it also featured a heartwarming and jaw-dropping marriage proposal from Victoria. 

“When I left my previous season, I thought I had let down the whole world, as well as myself, and I just stand here now so happy with what I’ve done,” she said. “If I could get down on two knees and beg for [the crown], I would.”

However before concluding her speech, Victoria revealed that she would be getting “down on one knee for a different reason.” 

“I would like to propose to my girlfriend, Dani. Because I wouldn’t be here now if it wasn’t for her,” the Cardiff-based queen said in between tears.

“She is the better half of me, and I couldn’t have done this without her. So, Dani, we’re probably watching this together right now. Will you marry me?” 

Victoria’s heartwarming proposal was an instant hit with the judges and her fellow queens, who praised the beloved talent for her passionate statement.

“I think that is the first proposal in Drag Race herstory,” Brooke Lynn said in response. 

On 23 December, Dani was finally treated to Victoria’s proclamation of love during a live screening of the Canada vs the World finale. 

Moments after fans watched her on-air proposal, Victoria pulled her girlfriend to centre stage before getting down on one knee and asking the coveted question again.

“I didn’t think I would be doing it in front of 13,000 people, but Dani, I love you so much. I couldn’t be here without you. We are one, so will you marry me?” she said.

After receiving cheers from the audience, Dani said “yes”, – which resulted in the two sharing a passionate kiss and embrace.

In response to Victoria’s landmark proposal, fans and various Drag Race stars flocked to her Instagram comment section to send congratulatory messages. 

One fan wrote: “I’ve never cried so much at a proposal, I only just got myself together after watching the episode now this has me going again. Congratulations to you both. I am so happy for you.”

Drag Race UK star A’Whora commented: “This is what it’s about right there!!! So much love to you both, a moment we was all waiting for. You just won in life, and that’s the biggest prize of all.”
