Luxury men’s clothing brand Canali has revealed their Italian Riviera inspired Spring/Summer 2023 collection.
Taking particular inspiration from Liguria, a crescent shaped coastal region in Northern Italy, the collection is influenced by the sights and sensations of peaceful Italian shorelines.
Inspired by a place “where relaxation and elegance come hand in hand,” the line embodies a phrase newly admitted into the Canali vernacular; ‘smartorial’, connecting formal wear and leisurewear in a way that is casual yet elevated.
Featuring suits in linen blends and stretch cotton-silk and everyday polo shirts with leather detail, the SS23 collection offers outfits fit for the shores of Liguria and beyond.
The coastal colour palette stars throughout the collection with sailor-striped boatneck sweaters and woven crew neck sweaters, a reminder of sunkissed ports.
Tangerine and aquamarine combine in suede seam detailing, while sage and sand hues reminiscent of coastal houses feature throughout the shirting and suiting.
This is balanced by terracotta outerwear pieces and off-white trousers, creating a range of separates that may be mixed and matched to create an outfit telling of pastel coastlines and twilights in the piazza.
Outerwear this season is all about the Shacket and the overshirt constructed in suede, linen and denim, creating endless pairing opportunities for summer nights.
The 100% Made in Italy collection also celebrates the 150-year anniversary of denim in an iconic saharienne jacket, a silhouette that epitomizes Canali’s history.
Footwear consists of Canali’s beloved loafers and suede slip ons. Meanwhile, totes in canvas, nubuck and soft leather featuring an intrecciato strap complete the collection.
