Barbie Ferreria has landed her first role since her surprising Euphoria exit.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the star has joined Prime Video’s upcoming thriller House of Spoils – which also stars West Side Story actress Ariana DeBose.

Directed and written by Bridget Savage Cole and Danielle Krudy, the film is set to follow a dedicated chef (DeBose) who opens up a “farm-to-table” restaurant on a remote estate.

However, her journey as a restaurant owner is set to be plagued with conflict as she battles “kitchen chaos, a dubious investor, crushing self-doubts… and the powerful spirit of the estate’s previous owner, who threatens to sabotage her at every turn.”

While additional information surrounding the film is being kept underwraps, the streamer revealed that Ferreira will be playing a “hopeful but sharp-tongued sous chef.”

The news of Ferreria joining House of Spoils comes a few days after she announced her departure from Euphoria.

Taking to Instagram, the 25-year-old opened up about the shocking decision in an emotional statement.

“After four years of getting to embody the most special and enigmatic character Kat, I’m having to say a very teary-eyed goodbye,” she wrote.

“I hope many of you could see yourself in her like I did and that she brought you joy to see her journey into the character she is today. I put all my care and love into her and I hope you guys could feel it. Love you Katherine Hernandez.”

Her statement was shared alongside fan art drawn by co-star Hunter Schafer.

Prior to her devastating announcement, rumours circulated that there there was tension between Ferreira and Euphoria creator Sam Levinson during the filming of season two.

However in an interview with Insider, the Nope star seemingly refuted the claims stating that “things take on a life of their own.”

“What’s interesting about this season is there are so many more eyes on it that even the news cycle has been so interesting to see,” she explained.

“I’ve seen so many different things, and a lot of it is untrue, and some of its kind of like mundane little things.

“Sometimes, things take on a life of their own, and they’re not rooted in the truth, but it’s OK because I know it’s just out of passion and out of curiosity and all that good stuff. And I signed up for it. So, I’ll take it. I’ll take the good and the bad.”
