13 Reasons Why star Tommy Dorfman has found the leads for her upcoming film I Wish You All The Best.

Back in 2021, the young talent revealed to Time Magazine that she would be writing, directing, and producing a movie adaptation of the popular LGBTQ+ novel.

On 30 August, Dorfman announced that she was officially looking for an actor to portray the film’s protagonist Ben De Backer.

“We are casting somebody to play a non-binary teenager in North Carolina who is coming of age and falling in love, and figuring out who they are after a tragic incident with their family,” she said in an Instagram video.

“So if you fit this description in any way, shape, or form, and you are interested in auditioning for this film, and you think you can play the role of Ben and carry this movie alongside some really amazing actors this fall, starting shooting in October, I believe. Then please, please, please go to Atomic Honey’s casting page.”

Since her initial announcement, details surrounding the film’s cast have been kept under wraps, until now.

On 4 November, Deadline reported that Ma star Corey Fogelmanis would be stepping into the role of Ben.

The news outlet also revealed that Miles Guiterrez-Riley (The Wilds), Lexi Underwood (The First Lady), and Lisa Yamada (Never Have I Ever) would be rounding out the cast as Nathan, Meleika and Sophie, respectively.

Shortly after the news made headlines, Dorfman took to her Instagram to confirm the casting in a heartwarming post.

“Meet your Ben! and Nathan! and Sophie! and Meleika,” she wrote. “Beyond grateful for this ensemble and especially Corey Fogelmanis for fearlessly leading us all into Ben’s world. Can’t wait to share more with you all.”

In an additional post, the Sharp Stick star uploaded a series of BTS photos – which featured the aforementioned actors on set.

The recent casting news comes a few weeks after Dorfman revealed that The White Lotus star Alexandra Daddario would be playing Ben’s sister Hannah.

“THE Alexandra Daddario is Hannah! Dreams coming true and I am so grateful to work with this one thank you Alex,” she announced on 14 October.

Based on Mason Deaver’s best-selling YA novel, I Wish You All The Best is set to follow Ben, a high school student who’s thrown out of their parent’s home after coming out as non-binary.

After moving in with their estranged sister Hannah and her husband Thomas, Ben is forced to unpack their trauma, survive their senior year and navigate a blossoming relationship with fellow high school student Nathan Allan.

As of this writing, ACE Entertainment has yet to announce a release date for the upcoming LGBTQ+ film.
