Hamilton’s Jonathan Groff is to star opposite Fleabag’s Ben Aldridge in Knock at the Cabin, an adaptation of Paul Tremblay’s The Cabin at the End of the World.
Directed by M. Night Shyamalan, the film follows the couple and their seven year old daughter named Wen.
The family heads on holiday to a remote cabin near a lake in New Hampshire where they’re later set upon by a trio of home invaders with an unusual and terrifying agenda.
Dave Bautista, Rupert Grint, and Nikki Amuka-Bird will star as the strangers that arrive at Groff and Aldridge’s home who take the family captive.
Tremblay’s original book has been described as a home invasion horror film that takes place during the apocalypse.
Its synopsis describes the story “as an unbearably tense, gripping tale of paranoia, sacrifice, apocalypse, and survival that escalates to a shattering conclusion, one in which the fate of a loving family and quite possibly all of humanity are entwined”.
The film has reportedly wrapped filming and is aiming for a February 2023 release date.
